Over 10 years ago, a trip to Nepal and India exposed Melbourne local, Angela Michel to the dire conditions in slum communities living next to rubbish dumps filled with plastic waste. Currently, 1 million plastic bottles are purchased around the globe every minute, often ending up in landfills or our oceans. Angela Michel wanted to change that.
Inspired by Daniel and Justine Flynn of the Thankyou brand, Angela made a commitment to found a brand that could create positive change to the planet and through social impact. Her mission led her to design an innovative reusable drink bottle made from 100% sugarcane, and this was the beginning of 'Worthy'.
Worthy bottles look and feel like plastic but without the nasties. Unlike traditional bottles such as stainless steel ( with paint that chips ) and glass ( which breaks ), which both require a lot of energy and resources to produce, theirs rely on the sun and rain, capturing carbon and making them carbon-negative and zero waste at manufacture.
Through every bottle sale, Worthy partners with Vision Rescue to support their communities, making a positive impact on both people and the planet.
