Dr. Dan and Maureen Etherington established Niulife more than two decades ago bringing a wave of change to the industry through the development of the Direct Micro Expelling (DME®) process. In an era dominated by subpar chemically processed coconut oils, Niulife's ground breaking approach empowered families in island communities to craft high quality virgin coconut oil right in their own villages. The user friendly DME® system can be operated by anyone, including women, young individuals and those with disabilities generating employment opportunities and nurturing small scale economies. Niulife not only buys all the oil made in these villages, but also channels all profits back into these communities ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for everyone involved.
Niulife specialises in fresh, handmade coconut oil and an extensive range of coconut based products. Their organic coconut oil is bottled in the Solomon Islands within an hour of opening the coconut, thanks to their DME® press that allows coconuts to be processed on-site for optimum freshness and purity. This 100% not-for-profit social enterprise was purposefully designed to support remote villages with 100% of profits reinvested into their communities and is dedicated to ongoing ethical and sustainable production.
